Samvedna Projects

Here we are hosting projects on Environment, Energy Conservation, Math development, Computer Programming with Fun, Water Conservation, Student Management Committees etc for students to start working on as part of Samvedna Projects.

The following Projects are being executed from December 2009 onwards through group websites that are being developed by the Samvedna kids. Each website has uploads of the below listed projects as well as other interesting stuff and links that kids are coming up with. These group Samvedna sites are collaborative…with site members being kids from different schools, cities, classes and religions. This way Samvedna seeks to evolve mutual appreciation, consideration and team spirit between our budding citizens of the 21st Century. Parents of these kids are also being welcomed to join the sites…so that they too can play a pro-active role in their wards development.

Project "Ground Zero"

The anniversary of 26/11…i.e 26/11/09 has a lot of people asking, "What is each one of us supposed to do to make our lives and neighbourhoods more secure?" Pointing fingers is NOT THE SOLUTION!! Is there a strategy by which each one of us can make a difference that will act as a deterrent to future merciless strikes by terrorists?

Well, the answer is yes. REACHA has been spearheading a SAFE INDIA CAMPAIGN since 26/11/08. Our school children, their teachers and parents CAN take up this campaign within their schools and neighbourhoods. This campaign is now being taken up as a Project as part of Project Samvedna.

Project 1 - Energy Conservation

The world today faces an almost insurmountable Energy Crisis. As our demands on Mother Earth keep increasing more and more fossil fuels are being burnt. Excess release of Carbon Dioxide has lead to Global Warming that threatens our very existence. Encouraging children to conserve energy as one of the ways to 'fight back' is perhaps our best bet today.

REACHA has trained more than 2,00,000 children, parents and neighbours in Delhi since the year 2004 through the NDPL Energy Club in partnership with Tata Power and Delhi Government. The same project is currently being implemented in Mumbai Schools as The Tata Power Energy Club.

Children do two projects as part of this Project:
1. CONSERVE, and
2. NEST

These are school, home and neighbourhood based and are linked with the self audit and assessment of the individuals energy consumption patterns. The eventual objective is Demand Side Management (DSM) that encourages consumers to rationalize and reduce their demand for energy consumption, thereby reducing the pressure on over-exploitation of natural resources - especially the fossil fuels that meet up most of our energy requirements.

Samvedna members as well as guest visitors are requested to get started on Active Energy Conservation through DSM.As we all join hands, results will soon follow and begin to make a tangible difference to our fragile eco-systems. Details on how to get started are listed below.
