A block of mass 120g moves with a speed of 6.0 m/s on a frictionless horizontal surface towards another block of mass 180g kept at rest. the collide and the first block stops. find the speed of the other block after collision.
i wil;l try my level best to solve this
A bullet hits the wall with a velocity of 20 m/s and penetrates it up to the distance of 5 cm. Find the deacceleration/deceleration of the bullet in the wall.
u=2.0m/s
v=0.0m/s
s=5cm=0.05m
a=?
By THE THIRD LAW OF MOTION :
v2=u2+2as
0=400+2*a*0.5
-400=0.1a
a=-400/0.1
a=-4000m/s2

a ship moving with the constant acceleration of 36 km/h square in a fixed direction speeds up from 12km/h to 18 km/h. Find the distance traversed by the ship in this period.
i can try to solve this numerical…
Given-
a= 36km/hr square
u= 12km/hr
v= 18km/hr
Solution-
v=u+at
18=12+36t
(18-12)/36 = t
4/36=1/9hr =t
now we know-
s=ut+1/2atsquare
s= 12x1/9+1/2x36x(1/9^2)
=1.5km
distance transvered by the ship is 4.2km
please let me know that my answer is correct or not..
Calculate the work done by a person in lifting a load of 20 kg from the ground and placing it on a 1-m-high table.
A person driving the car at 45 km/h approaches an intersection just as the traffic light turns yellow. he knows the yellow light lasts only 2.0 seconds before turning red and he is 28m away from the near side of the intersection.
A.) Should he try to stop or should she speed up to cross the intersection before the light turns red? The intersection is 15m wide. Her car's maximum deceleration(retardation) is -5.8 m/s^2, whereas it can accelerate from 45 km/hr to 65 km/hr in 6.0 seconds. Ignore length of the car and reaction time.
B.) If speed limit is 50mph and he has a faster car, is there any acceleration that he can do without going over the 50 mph speed limit to get through the red light?
can u solve this i am stumped…….
