u= 12km/hr

v= 18km/hr

Solution-

**v=u+at**

18=12+36t

(18-12)/36 = t

4/36=1/9hr =t

now we know-

**s=ut+1/2atsquare**

s= 12x1/9+1/2x36x(1/9^2)

**=1.5km**

distance transvered by the ship is 4.2km
